Living the Dream
Book One of ‘The Xandra’ has picked up in sales, but Book Three ‘Goddess of Life’ didn’t do as well as I hoped. Maybe after my Author Day some interest will be kindled again.
I’m still trying to find out what readers like to read and buy. What type of story turns them on? I’m not really into love stories. I love Science Fiction, but there has to be adventure, mystery, and some erotica. It’s just a matter of finding the right balance.
Before my first story was published I sent another story of mine (Blood of the Virgin, still unpublished) to a couple of publishers. They didn’t accept it because it didn’t fit their type of stories.
Then I sent ‘The Anniversary Gift’ to Midnight Showcase for the Sweet Revenge Digest. It was accepted. I was thrilled.
The story was an experiment, not really the kind of stuff I usually write. I got lucky. Jewel Adams, who is now my editor, liked it and all my other writings.
Then followed ‘Remember me Next Christmas’, the three Xandra books, and the short story ‘Gin and Tonic’.
There is a whole bunch of stuff coming out next year.
Like my son told me. I’m living the Dream.
